Residential

Residential roofing systems

Homes here run from 1940s colonials to new-build estates, and they do not all take the same roof.

Asphalt and architectural shingles

The workhorse of this region. Dimensional shingles carry heavier mats, wind ratings up to 130 mph, and warranties from 30 years to lifetime when installed as a complete manufacturer system.

  • Owens Corning, GAF, CertainTeed, Atlas and IKO
  • Synthetic underlayment, ice and water shield
  • Balanced intake and ridge ventilation

Standing seam metal

Concealed-fastener panels with raised, seamed ribs. No exposed screws to back out, excellent water shedding on low slopes, and a service life commonly quoted at fifty years or more.

  • Steel, aluminum or copper
  • Snap-lock and mechanically seamed
  • Porches, dormers, additions, full roofs

Slate

A century-plus roof when flashed and fastened correctly. Slate is unforgiving of poor workmanship, which is why most slate failures are in fact flashing and fastener failures.

  • Natural and synthetic slate
  • Historic repair and tile replacement
  • Structural load review before conversion

Cedar shake

Hand-split or taper-sawn western red cedar over a ventilated deck. Distinctive, and common across this area's older neighborhoods and covenanted communities.

  • Shake and shingle with correct spacing
  • Treated and fire-rated where code requires
  • Maintenance, cleaning and section repair

Flat roofing

Porches, additions, dormers and row-house roofs need a membrane rather than shingles. We install single-ply and modified systems sized to the drainage the roof actually has.

  • TPO, EPDM and PVC membranes
  • Modified bitumen, torch and self-adhered
  • Tapered insulation, drains and scuppers

Siding, gutters and trim

A storm rarely damages only the roof. We replace siding, gutters, downspouts, soffit, fascia and wrapped trim so the exterior matches when the job is finished.

  • Vinyl, fiber cement and insulated siding
  • Seamless aluminum gutters and guards
  • Interior water damage repair

Why our license matters

District Roofing holds a Class A RBC contractor's license, number 2705185756 — not a single-trade registration. That qualifies us to install every roof system on this page and to carry the work past the roof deck: replacing rotted sheathing, repairing rafters and trusses, rebuilding chimneys and dormers, and finishing interior damage. When a tear-off uncovers structural rot, the job does not stop.
